The House and Senate in Minnesota released their proposed partial budget-balancing bill this past week. Both legislative bodies have established an additional LGA cut for the City of Morris at $122,795 for 2010. This is on top of the $261,440 already unalloted by the Governor for 2010. The Governor had proposed an additional cut in LGA of $292,169 for 2010. The bill now goes before the House and Senate for approval. If approved, no one is sure the Governor will sign it into law. We are not happy with the deep cuts in LGA, but this bill is much better for Morris than the Governor’s proposed cuts. Everyone agrees 2011 will be much, much worse.
